As a registered charity, MYCO relies on the financial support received from individuals and sponsors in order to achieve its ambitions both on stage and off. It is almost impossible to put on a show to the high standards MYCO seeks to attain and break even, even if the theatre is sold out every night. Our outreach programme, which aims to broaden our reach and engage with youngsters who might never have had the opportunity to think about musical theatre before, requires funds. We want to provide vocal coaching and workshops for our members in order to develop their talents but that, too, all requires funding.

We are thus grateful for any additional support people are able to offer. Could you become a Friend? Is your employer or business in a position to sponsor us? Or take out an advert in our programme?

But it is not all about money. MYCO is very much a team effort that relies on a lot of people giving a little of their time. Fortunately, there are plenty of interesting ways to get involved from painting sets and helping backstage to publicity and selling raffle tickets. Prior experience is not necessary, just a willingness to lend a hand.

Easyfundraising

Millions of pounds are raised every year for good causes through Easyfundraising. Musical Youth Company of Oxford is registered with this free site, so we can raise money when our supporters shop online with retailers like Tesco, eBay, Etsy, Argos, Booking.com, Trainline, M&S and 8,000 other popular online stores. Retailers donate a proportion of what is spent, at no cost to Musical Youth Company of Oxford or our supporters.

You can create an account here. Once you have an account you can then also make things easier by installing a browser extension to remind you of every opportunity to use Easyfundraising. For that reason, they call their browser extension their Donation Reminder! It will pop up on every retailer site where a donation is available which means you don’t have to remember to access the site via Easyfundraising first!
