MYCO produces one main show per year. Shows are currently staged at the Oxford Playhouse during the Easter holidays, are always to a professional standard and always sell out! We also produce a concert every summer term, where members have another opportunity to showcase their vocal talents in solos and small group items, as well as whole company ensemble numbers.
MYCO has a family ethos and members participate in all our activities including shows, concerts, workshops and outreach projects. It is by working together and supporting each other that we are able to reach the high standards we are noted for. Many of our members go on to drama school and professional theatre work and we are so proud of them, but we are equally proud of those who use skills they have learnt in MYCO to achieve in other areas. Lasting friendships are formed and a lifelong passion for the arts is ignited.
Guy has been director, musical director, choreographer or various combinations of these roles since 2003 and MYCO’s Resident Creative Director for the last 8 years. During that time MYCO has twice won a Flame Award from NODA for ‘Inspirational Contribution to Musical Theatre’.
Julie’s association with MYCO began in 2002 when she was asked to be the vocal coach on a production of Me and My Girl. Vocal coaching turned into musical direction and before she knew it, Julie was in the orchestra pit! Since then Julie has spent much of her free time working on over 20 productions for MYCO, Oxford Operatic Society and other local societies.
MYCO is run by a dedicated volunteer committee of parents, former parents and others committed to giving young teenagers the opportunity to perform.

The wellbeing of everyone at MYCO is very important to us and we do all we can to ensure a safe and happy environment for both our young people and the adults involved with the company. You can read our full Safeguarding Policy here. Meanwhile, if you have any concerns at all about a safeguarding matter, please do either speak to our Safeguarding Committee Member in the strictest confidence or contact them by email. Safeguarding is everyone's responsibility.
During show week we operate a system of licensed chaperones in order to keep all our young people safe backstage. Should you ever have any chaperoning issues or questions, then please speak to our Chaperones Co-ordinator or contact them by email.
